These 100% all beech shells are top of the line in sound and build quality. Made in 1998 by Sakae for Yamaha in Japan during there first run of beech series. 8-ply kick which sounds killer & 6-ply snare and toms. This kit is extremely versatile with the soft full warm tone of maple and the low timber attack and projection of birch. They sound delicious and record great. They have original bottom tom heads. Remo PS3 kick batter, new Evans EQ3resonate, Remo snare side ambassador with Puresound 20 strand wires and new Remo Emperor smooth white batters on snare and toms. Smooth whites are amazing, cross between clear and coated and these drums are singing. The rack toms have YES mounts and the floor luckily has legs which I think is rare for this series. The drums and chrome hardware is in exceptional condition. The unique beechwood grain figuring is simply stunning inside and out of this kit. You would not think this kit is 23 y/o by looking at it.
