For starters, this is a fairly rare find as it is. A ludwig s/l , the last of the drums in chicago. (S/n 6xxxxxx) Which consisted of maple/poplar like the 70’s 3-ply kits. All ludwig classic hardware. But after some time, he decided the 16″ floor tom, and 24×14 bass were not cutting it, so several years down the road in the 90’s he ordered a custom made 20×16 floor tom and 28×18 bass drum using the famous keller “dw north american maple shells. He had them wrapped in identical ludwig chrome over wood matching wrap, and then transferred the badges from his former two drums to these so that all of the drums and s/n would remain intact. In addition as a tribute to his favorite two drummers, he had custom holographic led zepplin bonham and rush logos made up as well as a custom logo combining the two and had them applied throughout the kit. They are very sharp looking in natural lighting, but under stage ligthing they turn into dancing fireballs of prisamatic light. Very cool effect to put it mildly. Sizes are 28×18 which has may miking system adaptor installed, all you need is mike to plug in(non-drill type) 20×16 floor tom (both of these the custom ordered drums finished to match) 18 X16,15X14,14X13,12X11,10X9,8X9 Very melodic, warm, and plenty of bottom end to spare. A great addition to any collection. If you have ever had a custom drum made, or graphic logos for that matter, you know what a costly endevor this was. Condition wise excellent overall, with a few small spots here and there. Like for example a spot on top of bass drum where one of the rack toms brushed up against it. But overall presents extremely well. Also I have a matching yamaha subkick, supraphonic 14×6.5 snare, mapex popcorn snare all finished to match including custom logos I would list seperately if you were interested.
