Other hardware, heads, etc. To the best of my knowledge, none of the drum shells are scratched. The cymbals have stick marks, but thats all. Im not a hard hitter. This kit was bought new, never gigged, and used by me alone in my smoke free home. The Vintage Natural finish is Yamahas only finish that was designed to make wooden instruments sound richer and fuller. As the drums aged, I noticed they became better sounding. I spent hundreds of hours listening to recordings of cymbals and trying them in stores. Then I took the keepers, and worked with them until I found those that worked best with this kit.
