This drum set is my pride and joy. The bottom half of it is 1975 chrome steel over wood & Pearls patented fiberglass coating and the front half is 1979 chrome steel over maple. It is in fantastic shape being 43 and 39 years old. The mirror chrome finish you see is real. The steel you see is real. The drums bodies are maple and/or wood with Pearls patented fiberglass interior coating. They sound as good (if not better) than they look. I have collected every size Pearl has ever made over the years in the mirror chrome finish and you can own them all including the pair of HUGE 24 10 lug bass drums! The drums are sized as follows 6,8,10,12,13,14,15, 16,16,18 and (2) 24 10 lug bass drums. This drum set is absolutely complete. It is made up of 100% original vintage Pearl parts. I have replaced some of the tension rods, a bass drum foot and completely rewrapped the 24 maple bass drum with brand new 18 gauge mirror chrome steel. The original steel was so badly scratched, gouged and beat up that it detracted from the overall beauty of the rest of my kit, so I completely replaced it. I also completely refurbished the entire kit down to the screws to make it as factory fresh as I could for a kit that is 40 years old. The drums are not without their age appropriate pitting, scratches, dings and dents but as you can see from the photos I have provided, this set is an absolutely beautiful specimen of vintage 40 year old Pearl drums. All the smaller drums are maple shells with Pearl super rings (6,8,10,12) The bass drum to the right on most of the photos is the maple I rewrapped in 18 gauge mirror chrome steel. The bottom half of the kit (the bigger drums) is made of Pearl’s wood/fiberglass with the mirror chrome steel wrap. (13,14,16,18) The bass drum on the left is wood/fiberglass with the mirror chrome steel wrap. The suspended toms (15,16) are fiberglass shells with the mirror chrome steel wrap. The snare is a 14 1982 Pearl Steel Shell which comes with a 1975 vintage Pearl snare stand. All appropriate hardware is included and is of the same vintage. All drums have been reheaded with Evans 360 clear red hydraulic heads. The bass drums have been reheaded with Evans Emad drum heads. These drums will arrive with little to no hours on the batter heads. I included the picture of the kit set up next to my car so you get an idea of how much drum you are getting for such a small price. The set is as big as a car however, the car is not part of the deal… The great thing about having all these drums in all of the sizes available is that you can mix and match, use only what the gig requires and know that whatever gets thrown your way, you are covered. You are purchasing one the finest drum sets Pearl has every made at an unbelievably fair price. If you know your stuff, you know what I’m talking about. These were manufactured before Pearl came up with different tiers of quality i. Cheaper lines of drums such as maxwin and export, etc. That’s how big this set is. It’s big, it’s beautiful and it’s a work of art. Now, if I’m crazy enough to set this drum set up next to my car than maybe I’m crazy enough to accept your offer so let’s see if we can make a deal. All the quality and shine and steel adds up in the weight of this kit. It is a road warrior and will take anything you can dish out.
