This is a very unique set of Natural Maple Bird’s Eye Gretsch Drums. I have honestly never seen another one like it. The sizes are: 22″ x 16″ bass drum, 16″ x 16″ floor tom, 12″ x 10″ rack tom , and a 14″ x 7″ snare drum. I believe this kit was built by Gretsch in the 80s, and it was originally a natural maple GLOSS finish, but the finish was starting to look a little worn. So I had it refinished by Paul Bleifus, who was a drum builder/refinisher here in San Diego, and who specialized in Gretsch Drums and beautiful SATIN finishes. You can see the results of his incredible craftsmanship in the pictures. Look at the highly figured birdseye markings of the wood, and how his SATIN finish brings them out! One of the most important things to know about this kit is that it is made with Jasper shells , which are generally accepted as the best ever made. The wood has had about 30 years to mellow at this point, and these drums sound great! The 14″ x 7″ Gretsch Maple Natural Bird’s Eye finish snare drum, is still in the factory original GLOSS finish , but shares the same beautiful and rare “bird’s eye”. I have been a Gretsch drum fan and collector for decades, and I have never seen anything like this kit anywhere else. This is your chance to own something beautiful and truly unique!
