Here’s the most unique opportunity to own the Drum Workshop 25th Anniversary Timeless Timber Special Edition Collector Series from 1997! The drums come with a quality assurance inspection and have the 25th Anniversary Badge with the word Fiddleback on the badges stating what kind of Maple wood the drums are made from and have been signed by John Good and Don Lombardi, the presidents and ownersof Drum Workshop. They also have a have hand signed date of 1-23-98. This kit was one of the last one of its kind to be produced. John Goods signature and also have the resonating note of the drum stamped next to the two signatures. This is the full 5 Piece Drum set of this 25th Anniversary Natural Fiddleback Timeless Timber Collector Set. My drum set sizes are 8″, 10″, 12″ hanging toms, a 14″ Floor Tom and an 18″ X 22″ Kick Drum. This particular edition is in the Amber finish with “Book-Matched” Fiddleback Maple laquer finish and gold hardware with the 25th Anniversary commemorative badge. Also, “DW” wood inlay using Maple, Mahogany, and Teak. The limited-edition drums are TimberMatched Fiddleback all-Maple proportionate-ply shells with graduating reinforcing hoops, precision bearing edges, and True-Pitch Tuning System. The kit is considered a 1997 but was not completed till early 1998. Good and Lombardi signed the drums on 1-23-98 and the shells are all stamped 1-27-1998. The drums have never been outside of the shop and have stayed in a temperature and climate controlled environment for their whole life. In fact they have been in cases since late 1998 and only played a few times before that took place. The condition of these drums and the hardware are both in excellent shape. In fact I would consider these drum to be a 9.5 out of 10. The exception is the small ding in the floor tom (see photo) which is hidden and a small pedal rash on the batter side hoop of the kick drum. These drums sound amazing and the kick drum is a cannon. I know that these will not last long here long because they only made 50 of the 25th Anniversary Fiddleback Amber in this color. They also made 50 in the Amber finish. Here’s a quote on the DW website page In addition to expanding its product line, DW continues to create new drum concepts. John now carries the nickname as DWs woodologist, continually searching out different wood to create unique sets. In the late 90s, John learned of 500-year-old hardwood that had sunk in Lake Superior 100 years ago. The logs were harvested by underwater treasure hunters and. Used to create DWs Timeless Timber line, featuring 25th Anniversary Lake Superior Maple sets in 1997. And DWs 30th anniversary Lake Superior Birch sets in 2002. DW has also continued this tradition by releasing rare woods as limited edition Private Reserve kits. It has been brought to my attention that these originally did not come with a Tom holder on the kick and floor Tom legs. I had forgotten this fact. I had DW mount both of these items because I thought that I was going to use this kit. I played them in the shop but never took them out of the store putting them in the cases at the end of 1998. Drum World was in business for over 41 years. Unfortunately we were forced to close our doors in July of 2017. The price show IS ONLY AN ESTIMATE.
