Here for sale a fairly rare offering. A 1960s Olympic set with the virtually unknown 14 floor tom, i’ve seen maybe 5 of these ever. Oval badged sets of this era are becoming increasingly sought after, they may have been a budget offering from Premier back in the day but there’s nothing budget about the sound these produce. The same shells as the higher end product but with less and thus lighter hardware fitted. Perfectly robust and still going strong after 50 years this set is pretty remarkable condition, it has had no modifications over its life other than a damper to the 14 and a roundel repositioning to the bass. And the sizes are.. 3ply birch with solid beech rerings. 6 lugged, all Ts and claws, disappearing spurs and with repainted hoops. The spigot mount had been moved to a more top centred position and the previous fixing holes have been dowel and disc filled. Nice original Everplays to both sides with a new logo affixed to the batter. Pre International sized 3ply birch with solid beech rerings. 8 lugged, triple flange tall hoops and slot headed tension bolts all round. Sprung leg mounts with new rubbers to the legs. Everplay to reso and coated Ambassador to batter head. 6 lugged, triple flange tall hoops with slot headed tension bolts all round. Everplay to reso and Pinstripe to batter. This drum was at some point post factory fitted with a damper, now removed. The resulting hole has been dowel and disc filled. 5 lugged, spigot mount and triple flanged tall hoops with slot headed tension bolts all round. Everplays to both batter and reso. This set is still in really great shape, the wrap is vibrant and the chrome shines. That said you will find some small scrapes and pitting/rub to the chromework commensurate with age. Worst by far is the 14 bottom hoop. Please see the pictures and judge condition for yourselves. The snare shown is a Deluxe 8 lug birch, the top wood snare Olympic made at the time.
