Slingerland Radioking Set in Gold Sparkle for sale – Early 50s – 22-13-14. I have a Slingerland Radioking Drum Set In gold sparkle from the early 50s for sale, sizes are 22″, 13″ and 14. This set is in fantastic condition. All the drums have shiny Chrome Beavertail Lugs. The Bass and Rack Tom were paired from the factory, the 14 was added to the set later but it was manufactured in the 40s. The 14 has Crazing which is where it looks like its cracked but is smooth to the touch. The wrap is in good shape on the top layer but the bottom layer is cracked, so its sealed and smooth to the touch but looks all cracked. It looks pretty cool and its not super uncommon for drums of this age. All drums have a tight wrap and nothing wrong with them at all other than the aforementioned crazing on the 14. The only extra holes on any of the drums is 2 holes for a mount that was on the 14, which have been plugged with a bolt and nut. The insides of these are in great condition, bearing edges are solid and re-rings are tight. 14 has a little separation on the bottom bearing edge but heads still seat nicely. All have brand new batter and reso heads, except the reso on the bass. 14 straight legs are in great condition and hard to find in this condition. All the drums have gone through thorough cleanings, wraps are nice and hardware is all clean but nothing abrasive was used on them. All T-Rods for the bass drum are original and all except for 3 of them are still very straight, the other 3 thread in no problem but the heads of them are a little bent. I can type out a description of all the cleaning that was done on them if you’d like, i also have tons of pictures from the process if you would like to see more. Mufflers are in place and in good condition (2 on the 14″ and 1 on the 13″), and so is the tom mount for the rack tom for it to mount to the bass drum. Inlays on the bass hoops is missing a couple small sections but around 80% there and all original. 13″ has the “Radioking” etched hoop on top, 14″ does not. This is a great set and Im looking for it to go to a great home. I also have a Radioking snare for sale listed on my account. If youre interested in both, we can work out a paired price.
