RARE LUDWIG Early 70s four piece Drum Set – READY TO REWRAP! Ludwig 4 piece drum kit. Granitone interiors date these drums from 1973-75 according to vintageludwigdrums. Com. These drums carry, I believe, the 3-ply mahogany/poplar/maple with re-enforcement rings construction of the late 60’s. Includes everything shown in the photos. Sizes are 12, 13, 16, 22. Large classic lugs on all of the drums. 12 and 13 have top hoops and t-rods only and, although, both drums have classic tom mounts, they are both missing parts. The 16 is complete and the classic leg mounts work well. I do not believe the floor tom legs are original. Bass has 20 Ts and claws. I believe that only two of the Ts are Ludwig. I also believe, however, that 17 of the claws are Ludwig. I think both of the hoops are Ludwig. But one of them is a bit wider than the other (not the inlay width, the actual hoop itself is wider). Reinforcement rings, interiors and exteriors are generally in good shape. What makes this kit unique is that the wrap has been carefully removed, which is incredibly difficult to do as the wrap on these old Ludwig kits was glued over the entirety of the drums, not just at the seams. Accordingly, this is a rare Ludwig kit that is ready for to be rewrapped in the wrap of your choice. The kit displays really nicely as a wood kit as well, so no need to rewrap if you like it as is.
