We’ve had these shells for approximately 15 years and they have been an active part of our hire stock until the past couple of years which has seen them working a lot less. This is not a reflection on these shells more that of the demand for other brands and sizes that are currently more popular. Made in Germany, these shells are spun so are seamless. This finish has the sparkle running through it due it being added when the shells were being spun. Great sounding drums, classic acrylic… Loads of attack and low end thud with it… Scoop out all those middle frequencies! The bearing edges are all fine, the acrylic has small patches of “frosting” – when it becomes a little opaque. The chrome is not good… It’s not pitting at all but is scratched badly and chipped in places. These are only aesthetics and could be improved with a complete strip, polish and buffing – something we could do in our workshop for an additional charge.
