PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK OUT. SUPER RARE 1970’s GRETSCH DRUM SET 22/12/13 + 14″ & 16″ FLOOR TOMS in SONIC BLUE!! MATCHING SET SINCE DAY 1. When we 1st saw these, we assumed they were refinished. The more we looked into them, the sooner we realized that these were a 1 of a kind special ordered Gretsch set in Sonic Blue. Check out the Gretsch Penguin guitar in picture #7; it’s Sonic Blue too!!! Back in the day, Gretsch shot a clear nitro-cellulose coat over its lacquer finishes. Clear coats tend to yellow over the years, so the Sonic Blue looks like Seafoam Green. FACTORY ORANGE & WHITE LABELS. 1 14X22 BASS DRUM – MODEL 4247. 2 8X12 RIDE TOM – MODEL 4415. PARTIAL LABEL SERIAL NUMBER NOT READABLE 3 9X13 RIDE TOM – MODEL 4416 SERIAL 45853. 4 14X14 FLOOR TOM – MODEL 4417. 5 16X16 FLOOR TOM – MODEL 4418. THIS IS A COOL VIBE SET IN AS-FOUND CONDITION!! PLEASE SEE PICTURES FOR ACTUAL CONDITION BASS DRUM WAS ORDERED WITHOUT BEING DRILLED FOR SPURS or TOM MOUNT. DEALER INSTALLED CAMCO SPURS and PEARL TOM MOUNT. 12″ + 13″ WERE DRILLED FOR PEARL TOM MOUNTS in the 70’s and then YAMAHA MOUNTS in the 80’s or 90’s. 12 TOM has (1) LUDWIG REPLACEMENT HOOP. 13 TOM has (1) UNKNOWN BRAND REPLACEMENT HOOP. 16 FLOOR is MISSING BOTH MUFFLERS and LEGS. ANY STANDARD 3/8 LEGS WILL WORK. ALL OF THE DRUMS HAVE EXCELLENT INTERIORS. THEY ARE NOT RUSTY and NONE SMELL LIKE SMOKE. WITH ALL OF THE GREAT STUDIOS ALL OVER THE WORLD, WE ARE HOPING THAT AN ENGINEER WILL SEE THESE AND ORDER THEM FOR CARTAGE. THEY SOUND AMAZING AND HAVE NO PLASTIC COVERING DAMPENING THEIR SUSTAIN. WE RECOMMEND RIMS MOUNTING THE 2 TOMS AND CLAMPING THEM TO EITHER (2) CYMBAL STANDS or (1) DOUBLE TOM FLOOR STAND. Canada will usually be cheaper and Australia will usually be more expensive.
