Rogers Mid-70s Big-R 5-Piece Drumset. This is a vintage Rogers 5-piece drumset with Big-R badges from the mid-1970s in good, playable condition. It has maple shells with reinforcement rings and gray coated interiors, a gloss black wrapped finish with tight seams, and much of its original hardware. Included are 8×12″ and 9×13″ mounted toms (all sizes are depth x diameter), 16×16″ floor tom with legs, 14×22″ bass drum with spurs, and a 5×14 Dynasonic snare drum with period Rogers snare stand. Buyers outside the continental U. Badge is clean, secure, and displays serial number D700270. Black wrap is tight and its seam is secure. Has age-appropriate scuffs, fingerprints, and dust. Shell and reinforcement rings are intact, in-round, and show no obvious signs of separation. Bearing edges have a few minor nicks and dings but are in good overall condition. Tom mount bracket is secure and functions smoothly. Chrome is in generally very good condition with only normal signs of age and use, including dust, fingerprints, minor scuffs and some light corrosion. All six of the bottom lugs were removed at some point and replaced with non-Rogers lugs. In the process, extra holes were drilled in the shell. This modification has since been corrected and Rogers lugs reinstalled. However, the additional holes can still be seen on the interior of the drum. Also, during reinstallation, one of the threaded posts on one of the lugs was broken off. This lug is mounted with only one backing screw. Backing screws, tension rods, and washers on this drum are a mixture of original and non-original. New Evans Hydraulic batter head and lightly-used TAMA resonant head. Badge is clean, secure, and displays serial number D700498. Used Evans Hydraulic batter head and Evans G1 resonant head. Both heads show stick marks. 16×16 FLOOR TOM with LEGS. Badge is clean, secure, and displays serial number D705382. Original Rogers floor tom legs and leg mounts are present and function smoothly. 14×22 BASS DRUM with SPURS and DOUBLE-TOM MOUNT. Badge is clean, secure, and displays serial number D714325. Hoops are original black with chrome inlays. The batter side hoop has split where the bass drum pedal attaches. Original Rogers double tom mount with memory locks is in good functioning condition. One of the wingnuts has been replaced. Original Rogers spurs with memory locks function smoothly. Rubber feet have been replaced. All claws, t-rods, and lugs appear to be original. Used Dead Heads by Cannon batter head and white Rogers logo resonant head. Both heads show signs of wear. 5×14 DYNASONIC SNARE DRUM with ROGERS SNARE STAND. Badge is clean, secure, and displays serial number D700767. Chrome and hardware are extremely clean with only very minor scuffs and fingerprints. Internal muffler is present and functions smoothly. Snare wires are loose and some are bent. These will likely need to be replaced. The snare screw tensioner is missing its top knob. Snare stand with memory lock is in good functioning condition. Rubber feet are not original.
