Vintage Ludwig Super Classic Drum Set in original White Marine Pearl wrap, Factory Matched Set From 1966, these drums are in Very Good Unmodified Condition with All Factory Original Parts that are fully operational. The 3 Ply African Mahogany/Poplar/African Mahogany Shells w/ Rock Maple Reinforcement Rings are In Round and heads slide on easily and float. Bearing Edges are Nice Round Over Factory Originals in Excellent Condition. Shell Interiors are Original White Benjamin Moore Aqua Glo Paint (still has some of that “vintage new drum smell”), no date stamps inside shells likely due to being accidentally wiped off at some point in the last 54 years. Serial Numbers on the Keystone Badges are all in the 300s indicating 1966 as the year they left the factory on Damen Ave. White Marine Pearl wrap is in Above Average Condition tight with no seam lift with the exception of 1 small spot on the bottom of the bass drum and has very Minimal Yellowing due to the natural aging process, clearly has never been in a nicotine filled atmosphere. Chrome is in good condition with minor pitting on lugs. 9×13 Rack Tom 6 Large Classic Lugs per side, Chrome over Steel rims, 1- P1216D Bracket w/ normal wear to Hex Nut, White Felt Baseball Bat Tone Control, Brass Keystone Badge # 317347. 16×16 Floor Tom 8 Large Classic Lugs per side, Chrome over Steel rims, 3/P1216D Floor tom brackets, 3 Knurled Pattern legs, White Felt Baseball Bat Tone Control, Brass Keystone Badge # 322017. 14×22 Bass Drum 10 Large Classic Lugs per side, 10 T-Rods and Claws per side, 2 Wood Hoops w/ WMP insert intact and tight, Rail Mount Consolette Tom Holder w/ normal wear to hex nuts, 1-P1216D Cymbal Holder bracket, L Arm Cymbal Holder Knurled Pattern, 2/P1216D Spur Holders, 2/1305C Folding Spurs, Brass Keystone Badge # 318146. During the mid-sixties “Ringo years” Ludwig’s quality control was hit or miss as they worked two shifts 6 days a week to keep up with demand. This particular set has great edges and nice smooth shell seams and tunes up and sings with that classic Ludwig 3 ply tone in one of the three most popular finishes.
