RARE AND BEAUTIFUL – GRETSCH RENOWN. 6 PIECE KIT – 9 PLY – 100% BUBINGA WOOD. Only 100 of these sets were produced for the 125th Anniversary of Gretsch Drums. Only 50 of those sets came to the US. The remaining 50 sets were scattered all around the World. After 9 years they are already getting very rare. Especially in this condition. When this kit arrived new from Gretsch, I set them up in my studio at home. I decided then and there that they were not leaving the studio. I ordered a full set of The best cases Excel had and packed them away. In 2014 I unpacked them and took some pics in the front yard. Then, back in the cases they went. They are still in the same cases in the same climate controlled area in my studio in my same smoke free home. I had to open the hardware case the other day to see what was in there. I had forgotten after so many years. Note: The drums have never been used except for the first 2 weeks by me. The hardware was not new when I received the Bubinga set. That does not mean that is a bunch of old junky stands that I put together. I keep all of my equipment in as good of condition possible. None of this hardware is in anything but excellent condition. The hardware case shown in the pictures is a smaller and older case than the one I will be sending with this kit. Following is a list of the hardware that is included with this 6 piece Bubinga kit. 1 heavy duty dbl braced snare stand with swivel basket. 3 Heavy duty dbl braced cymbal stands with 12 mm extension cymbal tilter. 3 12 mm legs for the 14 Floor Tom with memory locks. 12 mm legs for the 16 Floor Tom with memory locks. 1 1 1/2″ x 39 1/2″ Stainless Steel Rack Tube (Hooks between two Cymbal stands for Tom Mounts). 1 Hardware Case 41 1/2″ high x 13″ deep x 16 wide (Leave Cymbal stand height, just fold legs) Tons of room. 2 Extra stand clamps for the rack Toms (In case you don’t want to use the Rack Tube). Memory Clamps for everything. 1 DW 9000 Cable Hat with 5′ cable. 1 DW 9000 Cable Hat with 8′ cable. (Can be used with the 5′ cable on the left side and the 8′ under the Bass Drum to the right side). With 14″ HI-Hat Cymbal on the left and 15″ Hi-Hat on the right. Lots of pattern combinations. These drums are composed of 9 plies in all of the drums. All 9 plies are High quality, hand picked and hand matched veneers of Bubinga. Bubinga Wood is one of the very Top Rated Tone Woods. It delivers a full, rich range of tones that are full and well rounded. It can produce amazing tone quality from a whisper to a roar. My Sound Engineer came over to set up my Mixer when these arrived. He said the Bass Drum could rip your hair off at 40 feet. They DO have Power and Punch. Nothing Else has the quality of Bubinga. Those of you who may have played on an all Bubinga kit would surely agree. 9-ply Bubinga with clear gloss finish. 30 degree bearing edges on all drums. Matching Bubinga Wood hoops on Bass Drum. DW Collectors Series Drum Set Black Oyster Glass W/Cases No Reserve. The kit includes the tom mount and legs for the floor tom. This kit has a date stamp on the inside of the shells for May 2008. The kit shows minor use and the heads show some play wear but not bad. This kit has the chrome hardware which helps flow with the finish. DW drum kit sizes (20, 14, 12, 10). There is NO CRACKS or DAMGE to this set. The bass drum does have a stain of some sort not sure what it is, doesn’t alter performance. Also included with the set are Wolfpack padded cases where this kit stays stored. The drum kit is kept in a NON-SMOKING environment.
