For sale is a wonderful 2004 Eames Drum Kit! Eames has been turning out high quality boutique drums since 1950! This appears to be the Natural Tone model, 9 ply (3/8) Birch shells with beautiful bearing edges. This is one of those kits that is so much fun to play it’s hard to put it down! Sizes are: 22 Bass Drum. The bass drum has been drilled for a May mic’ing system, with Pearl bass drum spurs and generic lugs and tension claws. There are a few rubber gaskets under a few of the lug casings that are broken (does not impact structure or tuning), wrap is tight with discoloration near the seam. Single Pearl tom mount will hold one Pearl style tom arm. The 10″ and 12″ toms have Pearl Optimount mounts. Generic lugs and triple flanged hoops. The wrap seams have some discoloration, the 10 seam lies flat and is tight. The 12 seam is tight but there is a little light wrap curl. 14 floor tom has Pearl floor tom leg mounts, generic lugs, triple flanged hoops and chrome legs. Wrap again has some discoloration near seam. The seam is tight with a little curl. The kit sounds great live and in the studio! Eames states that Natural Tone kit is a. Mid-range shell with controlled or centered resonance, round tone and wide tuning range. Ideal for close miking. Everything works as it should. Cosmetically, the chrome is in nice shape with less than expected wear. The wrap is in very nice condition with the exception of the discoloration near the seams. For sale is a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Nouveau shell pack. Drums include 18×22 – 8×10 – 9×12 – 13×14 (floor) and a 7×14 snare (more on the snare below). Also includes tom mount post & 3 legs for the floor tom. The color is Sea Blue Fade. It has almost no marks on it that – its immaculate If you would like more pictures, just let me know. I realized I didn’t take any of the inside of the tom shells… But they are great 7 ply maple shells! The finish is gorgeous and immaculate. When you put them under lights, its like they GLOW!! They really pop with stage lights on them. The quick release lugs make changing heads go quickly, and make these drums amazingly light!! They are a dream to move because they are not heavy. I have owned DW Edge, two Craviottos, 5 Gretsch snares, at least 5 Ludwigs (and I love Ludwig brass & bronze snares), and other high end snare drums. Cross my heart, this snare drum is my absolute favorite of all the drums I’ve ever played. If you like body & phatness! This snare is worth the price of the set. If it weren’t color matched & specific to this set, I’d keep it… And have considered keeping it (might change my mind too and relist the set without it). I don’t know what Yamaha does on their maple snares, but the combination of the die cast aluminum rims, the shell, the brass snares… Since I got this snare I have bought other Yamaha maple snares – and I really like them!! I hate to let this set go, and especially this snare, but have decided to share the joy for reasons I’ll list below. In the 2nd pic I have another Yamaha snare drum – brown – that’s another amazing Yamaha maple – but that’s not the one that comes with the set – its the color matched 7×14 model. This drum set was made in Osaka Japan by the Sakae family. And I love these drums! It’s not my only Japan made Yamaha set. It’s becoming a hobby that I enjoy – taking old drums & bringing them back to life. However, I’ve got to thin my herd because I’m getting more sets than I can reasonable store (or play). That is the only reason I decided to let this set go. I thought I’d keep them till I die… But, I’ve enjoyed them, I’ll let someone else enjoy them, and I’ll move on to exploring other sets as I’ve been doing for many years. Obviously I’m not giving them away. So if you want them, make a reasonable offer!
