Got this in a big drum haul. I took it apart to clean it up some and discovered that when putting on a new bottom head that the shell is a little out of round. At least on the bottom side. Putting a head on the top was much easier. A few tension rods are not original as are the snare wires. Chrome has minor scratches.

Slingerland 8 x 12 Rack Tom (depth x diameter) Sparkling Gold Pearl Wrap, Early 1970’s Niles Era. THE LISTING IS FOR THE DRUM SHELL AND HARDWARE INSTALLED ONLY. NO HOOPS, TENSION RODS OR DRUM HEADS. The Gold Sparkling Pearl Wrap on the shell has a nice appearance with only slight fading from the original gold color. (see pictures 13, 14 and 15 showing the drum shell w/ no hardware installed). The original wrap is tight along the edges and the main vertical seam. A drumhead rests flat and spins smoothly on both top/batter and bottom/resonant sides. BLACK and SILVER BADGE #837xx. (circa early 1970’s) The shell is 3 ply mahogany, poplar, maple w/ maple re-rings. The interior looks very nice and clean for a 50+ years drum shell. There is NO extra holes in drilled in the shell. The Bearing Edges and Re-Rings on both ends are nice and solid. (see pictures 8 thru 12). THE HARDWARE INSTALLED ON THE DRUM SHELL INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING. 1 – 160-6 Set-O-Matic Tom Mount Plate w/ SS2 Key Screw. Very Good Condition with only minor use. The chrome plating finish is very nice and shiny. The Mount Plate slides smoothly on the receiving arm post with no issues. 1 – 1081 internal muffler. Works smoothly and is in good operating condition. 12 – 565 Small Sound King lugs. Each one has been taken apart, cleaned and lubricated w/ clean felts installed. All twelve lugs are in nice clean shape. The chrome plating looks great giving off a nice shine. (see pictures) All threads inside the swivel nuts are in good condition. The mounting screws are in very nice clean condition with good threads. Please examine all the pictures for your consideration and to determine the condition for yourself. Vintage, I’m not 100% sure what year. I checked with some Slingerland forums, a lot of people say mid 60s. 20″ diameter by 14″ depth. Drum appears to be maple, has reinforcement rings. Has some plugs that I’m not sure what used to be there. In very nice playable condition.

Slingerland 5-piece professionally wrapped with Turquoise Glitter by Precision Drum Co. Drums sizes are: bass drum 14×22, rack toms 8×12 & 9×13, floor tom 16×16 and snare 5.5×14. All toms and bass drum are 3-ply maple-poplar-maple with Slingerland badges. All bearing edges are good and shells are in round. Snare is the Hollwood Ace model 3-ply mahagony-poplar-mahagony. Drum parts are Slingerland or when not, are supplied by Drum Factory Direct. Original tom mounts and sound dampers are installed. Rack toms have a mount suspension system for improved positioning convenience. Bass drum has original tom-post mount & spurs, maple hoops and a DW pillow. The skins are Remo Emperor coated batter and Diplomat clear resonant in good used playing condition. Included are similar extra drumheads for all toms and bass drum. Cymbals and stands not included.
