This is a quality six drum shell pack, that is playable as is, but can be brought back to excellent condition as a project. Bass Drum- 22″ x16″ Bass drurm is in good shape. Has legs, however one spur is unstable due to some deterioration around the hole/ mount, for that spur. Bass drum remains stable in use, thought, and mount hole is not visible. Also the exterior of the bass drum has some veneer that has cracked off, and yet drum still looks good. This too, is repairable. Drum has two good 22 heads, one being a Ludwig, and both in very good condition. Currently all original and matching hardware on this drum allows the mounting of one drum head on the bass drum, and I have a fair amount of spare hardware which may fit all round. Floor tom- In good used shape. 16″ x 16″, good quality heads. Complete with three legs. Snare drum- this is a real feature. Nicely made with sensitive snares that nicely adhere to snare side. 8 lugs per side. One 12″ and two 13″. Tuned properly you can get spectrum of sound over these three. This sort of configuration was not all that unusual back in the vintage drum era that this set was made. Although not all drums have badges, the badges are really cool, and in decent shape. I’ve had this set for many, many years, stored properly in my studio. So the price is low considering what you’ll get. LIkely will require two boxes, given the number and size of the drums. I custom built (Frankensteined) this 14 x 5.5 inch snare drum from a 1950’s Rogers Newport Parade Drum (see badge photo). It was originally 14 x 10. The hardware is from a 1990’s Mapex snare – I like the classic styling. I have fitted it with a Remo Renaissance snare side head and a BRAND NEW Kangaroo Hyde drumhead made by Kentville drums in Australia. These natural hyde heads are top of the line and sound beautiful with the natural resonance of the Jasper shell. Please inspect the photos carefully for information regarding condition. Condition Notes: This drum has its ORIGINAL FINISH- meaning it has many surface flaws. All wear is cosmetic – the drums structure is SOLID. Note that there are three extraneous holes in the shell from the drums former life as a a parade drum. These have been filled with putty and do not impact the drums sound. All three ate visible in the photos. THIS ITEM IS AS IT IS. It’s VINTAGE, and Frankensteined. It is ONE OF A KIND. Ideal for Country, Jazz or Orchestral applications, but may be suitable for players interested in musicality and nuance.
