Used and in excellent condition over all minus the following disclosures. Overall, the heads have life left in them but they show use and could stand to be replaced and updated, top and bottom. The bass drum head has a slick crack where the beater hit the head, but the crack does not go through the head. The small split may be in the beater patch. The 10, 12, 16 toms are all in excellent condition. No major flaws are visible. They may have minor nicks and dings from normal use that I did not notice. The bass drum has nicks and dings on the hoops as photographed. The bass drum has stuck-on Velcro in the bottom of the bass drum’s interior for an Evans bass drum dampener. I left it there rather than risk damaging the internal finish. I can include the bass drum pad upon request. Overall it’s in very good to mint condition. It’s been well cared for and looks and sounds great. No tom arms / mounts are included other than the Yamaha-style rims mounts on the 10 and 12 toms and the floor tom legs. These are no longer made and were modeled after vintage American drums such as Ludwigs but with modern construction and hardware. For sale is a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute Nouveau shell pack. Drums include 18×22 – 8×10 – 9×12 – 13×14 (floor) and a 7×14 snare (more on the snare below). Also includes tom mount post & 3 legs for the floor tom. The color is Sea Blue Fade. It has almost no marks on it that – its immaculate If you would like more pictures, just let me know. I realized I didn’t take any of the inside of the tom shells… But they are great 7 ply maple shells! The finish is gorgeous and immaculate. When you put them under lights, its like they GLOW!! They really pop with stage lights on them. The quick release lugs make changing heads go quickly, and make these drums amazingly light!! They are a dream to move because they are not heavy. I have owned DW Edge, two Craviottos, 5 Gretsch snares, at least 5 Ludwigs (and I love Ludwig brass & bronze snares), and other high end snare drums. Cross my heart, this snare drum is my absolute favorite of all the drums I’ve ever played. If you like body & phatness! This snare is worth the price of the set. If it weren’t color matched & specific to this set, I’d keep it… And have considered keeping it (might change my mind too and relist the set without it). I don’t know what Yamaha does on their maple snares, but the combination of the die cast aluminum rims, the shell, the brass snares… Since I got this snare I have bought other Yamaha maple snares – and I really like them!! I hate to let this set go, and especially this snare, but have decided to share the joy for reasons I’ll list below. In the 2nd pic I have another Yamaha snare drum – brown – that’s another amazing Yamaha maple – but that’s not the one that comes with the set – its the color matched 7×14 model. This drum set was made in Osaka Japan by the Sakae family. And I love these drums! It’s not my only Japan made Yamaha set. It’s becoming a hobby that I enjoy – taking old drums & bringing them back to life. However, I’ve got to thin my herd because I’m getting more sets than I can reasonable store (or play). That is the only reason I decided to let this set go. I thought I’d keep them till I die… But, I’ve enjoyed them, I’ll let someone else enjoy them, and I’ll move on to exploring other sets as I’ve been doing for many years. Obviously I’m not giving them away. So if you want them, make a reasonable offer! It is in excellent condition with only a few microscopic scratches on the mounted tom. These drums sing with lots of projection. The bearing edges are graduated with softer edges on the bigger drums, and there are no reinforcement rings. The shells are six ply African bubinga and North American maple. Lots of power here, and a beautiful look! Chad is in serious demand and works tons of sessions in Nashville for all the greats. The Celestial kit features Sakaes new Chamber Specific Technology (CST). CST is another innovation in the 88-year history of Sakae and is a result of decades of collaborations with some of worlds top drumming artists. Eizo Nakata, Sakaes 3rd generation President states, Sakae believes that in the search for the ultimate resonance and tone, individual drums within a drum kit should not be limited to a certain ply configuration, bearing edge or even shell composition. North American Maple and exotic African Bubinga wood are used for this hybrid drum. 2-plies of African Bubinga wood, known for its great resonance and projection, are used on the outside of the shell. By having the hardwood at the bearing edge, where the head contacts the drum, the most profound properties of the Bubinga wood are expressed.
