Here is a unique customized Legend drumset. It has Keller maple shells, and each drum has a paper label on the interior shell showing a date stamp of May 21, 1996. When I received this drumset, it was an ugly teal blue lacquer finish with a lot of scratches. I took the drums to master drum builder Keven Pinson (formerly of Bearing Edge Drums), and he removed the teal lacquer and applied an exotic wood veneer. It is Birdseye maple, and it is gorgeous. He even added the veneer to both sides of the bass drum hoops. The sizes are (depth x diameter). 5×13 snare with die cast hoops. It has an Ayotte throw off (no extra holes). All rack toms and floor toms are virgin and include the original Legend suspension mounting system. The bass drum is also virgin. It never had a tom mount. The prior owner attempted to repair a small crack in the bass drum shell by drilling two holes about 2.5 apart and putting two bolts through them holding a metal plate together. It was really stupid, so Kevin removed that, filled the two holes, and epoxied the crack (see pic). It is rock solid. There is no structural damage or issue at all, and you dont see anything on the outside of the shell because of the Birdseye veneer covering it. Trick drums are absolutely innovative in sound and construction. The ultra thin aircraft aluminum shells are precision milled and unaffected by temperature. Tone between drums is incredibly clean and consistent due to the use of one aluminum ply: whereas wood ply drums have inconsistencies due to wood densities and glue. The lugs are solid aluminum and the snare features Trick’s amazing GS007 strainer. This kit sounds way more warm and full then you would expect from a metal shelled kit and is also loud punchy and full of attack. The drums are all very clean overall with just a couple of light dings, scratch on the backside of the 16 and some smudges on the bass drum. Chrome has flaked off a few lugs on the snare but it’s very hard to notice since it’s aluminum underneath. Also included are six floor tom legs and bass drum mount for rack toms. This is a Rogers Fullerton early 1970’s Swivomatic Powertone 4 piece drumset. Drum sizes are 9×13, 10×14, 16×16 and 22 x14. Shell interiors are painted speckled grey. 3 of 4 drums have labels (9/72 with A and B serial numbers). All drums are similar excellent condition and no reason to believe it is not an original set. All rims and hoops look to be original and in very good shape, no oxidation or rust. There is some minor oxidation on the collet plate on the 9×13 tom. New England white wrap is tight and very clean. The Rogers toms were originally mounted on a Swivomatic tom stand. I installed the Swivomatic double tom mount on the bass drum with original mounting hardware. The Swivomatic set screws are intact. The bass drum spurs with Swivomatic collet plates and noses are original. I have replaced the batter and resonant heads on all toms with Remo Vintage Ambassadors. The front head on the bass drum is original. I have an extra Remo clear head for the bass drum batter. This is a really nice set. Up for sale is my mid-2000 4 piece Ludwig Classic Maple John Bonham replica shell pack in natural maple gloss. This is a replica of his early touring kit before he switched to touring with the Vistalite set and it sounds incredible. Tune it up and you have great attack and stick response coupled with a rumbling low end for that Bonzo sound or tune it lower and you get a cavernous, deep wet maple sound. Ludwig Classic Maple shells are about the best sounding drums out there and this kit makes an incredible visual and sonic presence on any stage. Issues with the kit include a few small nicks on the side of the bass drum (pictured) which are hard to see because of the natural maple finish. Slight pedal indentation on the hoop, and the 18 floor tom has had very slight dent/seam separation (pictured). It looks like the previous owner dropped the drum on it’s side and it “dented” the top part of the shell slightly at the seam. The seam has been re-glued and is absolutely solid and the hoop has been replaced. No cracks but the drum is very slightly out of round at the top. Drum heads seat on the bearing edges fine and there is no binding with the drum head or counter hoop. It tunes up great, sounds fantastic and is not at all noticeable when a drum head is on it. Pictures don’t do this kit justice, the maple grain is intense and stunning. Included in the sale is: 14X12 inch virgin rack tom, 16X16 inch floor tom with legs, 18X16 inch floor tom with legs, and a 26X14 inch bass drum.
