For sale: 1970’s Pattern D Ludwig vistalite drum set. I’m moving in the future so I’m starting to part with my drum sets – including my Vistalites. This kit is in great condition with only minor damage to the floor Tom (pics of damage included). They sound great – very loud, bright-sounding drums. 12, 13, 16, 22 shell pack and snare included. Cymbals, stands, throne, etc. All of the original parts are here less a few replacement tension rods and washers. I live in the Minneapolis area. This set has a total of 10 pieces drums. All in good condition. I think I found 1 small crack near 1 tension rod holder. And one goind across a red swirl. 14×5.5 snare drum.. Snare drum in good condition. 22×14 Bass drum with both hoops and sprus. 22×14 Bass drum withn 1 hoop no spurs. 13 x9 (newer regular tom with 2 rims). 3 concert tom stands. All drums are in fairly good condition.. Found a small hairline crack on the 14 inch tom near tension lug. Found a hairline crack going across a red swirl about 2-3 inches on the 15 inch. One bass drum pretty much complete. One missing 1 hoop. Only enough tension rods for one bass drum.. Hard to find red/clear Pattern “C” Ludwig Vistalite kit, just in time for the holidays! 14×22, 9×13, 10×14, 16×16. 6 new Evans heads, clear G2’s over clear G1’s. Overall in very nice condition, few minor issues of which the worst is shown in the next to the last pic – an “interior” crack in the floor tom. It does not reach to either side of the shell and seems to be going nowhere. You won’t see another set like this anytime soon. Serial numbers are out of sequence, which appears to point to 1970 as the year of manufacture. Ships only to the lower 48. Please see my other listings. Any questions just ask. Made in USA, all shells are in great shape, no cracks, solid structural condition, no issues, shows some normal cosmetic wear, some scratches and scuffs, a couple little dings on the bass drum (surface-level, nothing that penetrates the surface), nothing significant. Vintage Ludwig Vistalite Red/White/Blue. Bicentennial Kit in very rare, custom pattern (most likely one of a kind), similar to pattern D, but with a 4 band swirl instead of the 3. Serial numbers are 130xxxx, all were made around the same time late 70’s, at that time ludwig would make custom drums. Everything works well, and the drums sound great. Sharp, clean snare sound and deep toms with good resonance. It has very minor scratching and holes where the floor tom leg and rack tom mounts were moved. These imperfections are only visible on close inspection. The set has good heads, and has been well maintained, I played it for gigs a handful of times. It is a show stopper. Price includes 5 drums and tom holder: 12 x 9 tom, 13 x 9 tom, 16 x 16 floor tom, 14 x 6 snare, 22 x 16 kick. This is a really fun, unique set that should hold its value well.
