First off I’ll say Spaun drums are the best made drums I’ve ever encountered, and I’ve played everything. 100% maple shell, single point all-brass lugs. Doesn’t get any better. The drums are a stunning satin black with black hoops, and the hardware is silver satin as well. Kills me to sell this one as it’s just so beautiful and well made, but I just have too many sets. 10″-12″ rack Tom’s, with 16 floor tom, and 22×18 bass drum. Listing is for shells only.

This started out life as a Tama 6 x 14 “Spartan” snare drum from their Warlord series. They originally featured gothic style black nickel hardware with Swarovski crystals embedded in the lugs. They tended to self-destruct. The former owner tried to “fix” them with glue to no avail. They have been replaced with tube lugs. There is still some glue residue that could be cleaned off if you wish. Some cosmetic wear, but the shell is in round with good bearing edges and it sounds great! These drums are interesting because they have unusually wide/rolled over and soldered flanges at the bearing edge which are reminiscent of the 20’s Ludwig 2pc drums except this is a one piece steel shell without a center bead instead of the conventional brass. Not a museum piece, but way cheaper than any other you’ll find!

Ludwig classic maple 5 piece drum kit. Included are the 5 drums, double tom holder, floor tom legs and a Ludwig snare stand. These are some beautiful drums. I believe late 80’s. Early 90’s at the latest. Top of the line pro drums. 6 ply maple shells. 4 leg bass drum. Finish is blue shadow and is amazing. And best of all kit comes with the Supraphonic snare drum. Sizes are 12×11 and 13×12 power toms, 16×16 floor tom, 22×16 bass drum and the chrome 14×5 Supraphonic snare drum. Near New Evans heads on all toms. Bass drum has a nice Evans ebony head. Snare drum says 889 on the inside making it date to August 1989. Snare has an imperfection on the inside of the shell that must be from the factory. It is NOT at all seen from the outside. I have it pictured. Not a big deal and it is a beautiful drum. My camera does not at all do these justice. I have owned many Ludwig kits and these are by far the nicest. Light wear for the year. Some very nice drums. I have not even wiped them down and you can see how nice they look. With a good cleaning these will look amazing. The new owner will be very pleased. Drums will be very safely packaged.

A one of a kind 3-piece Walberg & Auge drum set, made in 1968/69. Sizes are 8×12 rack tom, 15×14 floor tom (14 head size), and 14×22 bass drum. Like most W&A drums of this era, this kit has a mixture of different brands of hardware. The lugs and tom tension rods are classic Gretsch, as are the rail mount and diamond plate. The leg brackets on the floor tom are (non-stamped) Ludwig push-button mounts and the legs are aluminum of unknown origin. The tom rims are late 70s Yamaha replacements, and the floor tom resonant rim is a modern generic of some sort. The mufflers, spurs and spur mounts are Walberg & Auge parts, and the bass drum claws and tension rods are also Walberg & Auge but from a 1930s drum. All chrome hardware except the muffler knobs which are nickel. The shells are 6-ply, I’m assuming they’re Jasper maple/gum but it’s not clear. All three drums are signed and dated inside by the original maker at Walberg & Auge. This kit has been restored a couple of times over the years. The finish is paint and lacquer a la the Gretsch Cameo Coral finish of the 1950s and early 60s, done by hand. The rack tom had a different mount added at some point and two small hole were plugged before refinishing. The bass drum has holes for a cymbal arm mount, which I do not have and don’t know what part it should be. There are some bolts and nuts in these holes currently. There are a couple tiny nicks in the finish on the bass drum and floor tom, and old shell dents visible through the paint up close. Hardware has general minor wear and tear but has been cleaned and everything works solidly. The hoops and inlays are original to the kit, one was cracked all the way through and has been glued back together but the old crack is visible, see photos. All bearing edges are original. The tom edges are excellent and the bass drum edges have some small nicks as shown. All shells are in round and they tune up easily. For hundreds more drum parts! This is a used DW Collectors Series Copper Snare Drum. Size 5×14 Birthed on Dec 5, 2002. Several lugs have cosmetic imperfections i. Some tarnish or dull surface. The drum shell is intact and in excellent condition!! Overall, this snare drum is in very good condition.

In the early 80’s Tama created a fancier Royal Star version using the “Tamco” lugs, and a big “T” badge proclaiming “Made in Japan”. Additionally, the outer cherry stain was used on the inside of the drums instead of Zola coat. The drum’ s interior screws and washers have a gold-ish plating, not standardized galvanized style.. Depending on what you can dig up about the wood construction of these drums -some opinions claim 5 ply Mahogany and 2 of Shina wood. The attached black and white photo is from an early (’82) NAMM show in Modern Drummer Magazine (my guess). This blurb says 8 ply Mahogany and 1 outer birch and clearly this version with the Tamco lugs. All the “Big T” badges on this set begin with “82”. Tama Camco production stopped in Japan in’83. This style of Royal Stars were never in a catalog I’ve been able to locate. Regular Royal star drums yes, but not the Tamcos. So, our set has an Omni-sphere tom mount, a 14″ x 22″, 8″ x 12″, 9″ x 13″, and 2, yes 2 16′ x 16”s. I picked up the 2nd 16 later on. Lack dots on 4 out of 5 drums. Aquarian Super Kick 1 and vintage on the bass. Some drums have some minor dings- see the photos. If you know what they are and. Truly want this quality vintage of drum set, the price is the price. Oh, yeah, they sound killer…
