I’ve spent most my life dealing in antiques and instruments. I’ve stashed away many items for a rainy day. Well boys and girls. It’s pouring outside and it’s time to share these with the world! Vintage Custom Made Solid Teak Drum set. Seasoned drum and musical instrument collectors. You thought you’ve seen everything? Feast your eyes on this one of a kind drum set! Each shell is Grade A 3/4 solid Teak! (not veneer) Grade A teak is very expensive! The material cost to build a matching Bass Drum with vintage hardware is approx. Labor not included Each shell is joined in equal width sections. I can’t imagine the countless hours spent to build this kit. The hardware used is vintage Rogers. Other accessories not shown are a vintage Rogers HiHat stand with common cymbals. A 2nd stand with cymbal (not Rogers) and a drum seat. Overall condition it looks fantastic but there are areas of abrasions and scratches in the wood. Fortunately due to the rich color of teak. Most imperfections disappear when lemon oil applied. The 16×18 has 4 visible mounting holes. (see photo) Bass drum has one section that has come partially unglued. (it closes easily so should be an easy fix) Approx. Sizes of the set consists of. Unfortunately through the passages of time. The identity of this talented person who built this set has been lost. The back story is vague but from what was told to me is the set was hand built by a recognized and established drummer from NYC who challenged himself to build a set that was equal or better than the most expensive drum sets. I surmise the set was built in the 1970s based on the hardware. If your a collector. This would certainly be one of the more interesting sets in your collection. I’m not a drummer but when I saw this set I was immediately drawn to the unique build, craftsmanship and beautiful wood. The drums are quite light considering the 3/4 solid shell. Teak is a light weight wood and bullet proof to weather and humidity. If I had a room to display this set. If you were to build a replica of this set. Material and labor would set you back around 10K. Wish I acquired these before Neil Peart passed to share with him. One of a kind custom drumset handmade by Ross Garfield of Drum Doctors, Los Angeles. Up for sale are the 4 toms (10, 12, 14, 16) and (22) kick drum. No hardware or microphones included. Shells are comprised of Drum Doctors secret blend/plies of wood. Shells are hand stained and signed by Ross Garfield. Toms die cast hoops are custom powder coated in gun metal grey. Toms mount on to DW sized mounts. Only used in professional commercial non-smoking Los Angeles recording studio. Used on a bunch of gold and platinum records. This particular drumset was played/recorded by top LA session drummers including Gregg Bissonette, Thomas Lang, Glen Sobel, etc, etc, etc. This set sounds absolutely amazing and in perfect shape. This set is trimmed in Gold and includes a gilbratar rack also done in gold. This set is a top line DW set and has been on tour so it does have some nicks and scratch’s on the hardware but the drums are in excellent shape! This sounds incredable and it speaks for itself. Paiste 2002 Black Label 22 ride cymbal. Modern Drummer paid tribute to Keith Moon with their September 2003 issue – 25th Anniversary Tribute to Keith Moon. In cooperation with Paiste, they gave away a Keith Moon replica cymbal set as a grand prize to one lucky winner. This is the ride cymbal from that set. Its the real deal. Ive had it in my personal collection for years. The previous owner was the winner of the cymbal set. It weighs 3,204 grams on my digital scale. Its in excellent condition. Some normal stick marks. No cracks or fleabites. Ive included a picture of the September 2003 Modern Drummer magazine cover and the ad from that issue. This is an incredible opportunity for any Keith Moon fan. Have updated the pics like some have requested!! This is a one of a kind complete drum set which includes everything that is pictured including extra hardware. The drum set was made and played on tour by Chicago and drummer Tris imboden whom was inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of fame a couple years ago. The set was on tour in 2006 and played on for a couple years. The set is a beautiful custom wood and all hardware is real Gold plated including the custom rack built by gilbratar the only made in Gold. I also will include a plastic container with extra Gold hardware. Also included is unique gold mic stands that were mounted on the rack itself. Every piece that goes together are numbered for easy assembly which was put on by the stage guys and drum tuners that assembled this each gig. Also I will include the bands bass head that was theirs all original, I also have pictures and video that shows this unique set being played on tour, Pretty freaking awesome right? I have documentation from DW confirming this set belonging to the Drummer and band. This a custom kit from Bill Detamore built in 2015. Shells are African Mahogany with Maple rerings. They feature a High gloss lacquer finish with matching bass drum hoops. The drums are in mint condition. Tom mount is included as well the Pork Pie logo bass drum head(not pictured).
