This kit / color combo was not available, single owner drummer worked at the factory and pulled his drums before the inside was even painted on the floor Tom and Kick. Used regularly on gigs from Cleveland to Chicago, and one of the most explosive, yet warm sets of drums I have ever played. The snare drum virtually rolls itself, and we all used it for solo ensemble contest because the wide snares and the drum just sounds FANTASTIC! This kit belongs in a museum. Toms 12×9 and 14×14. For sale is a great sounding Gretsch players kit. This is a Round Badge in the unique MoonGlow Satin Flame finish. This kit just craves to be played! Jasper gum shells that made Gretsch famous! The finish overall on all drums; the. Seams are tight, however typical scratching, swirls and spiderweb cracks that are typical on these finishes is present. 8″x 12″ Tom Tom. Traditional Gretsch lugs, Gretsch Round Badge, Gretsch die cast hoops and L Tab Diamond mounting plate. Both mufflers are missing. Wrap is tight and in fair condition as described above with one section where the finish has rash about the size of a nickel (see picture 5). Chrome is in good shape with less than expected pitting and flake. Has new modern Evans heads which are snug but fit easily. The batter side bearing edges are nice and untouched. The reso side has an interior chip which doesn’t look to impact bearing edge too much (picture 10). 16″x 16″ Floor Tom. Traditional Gretsch lugs, Gretsch round badge, Gretsch die cast hoops, Gretsch diamond leg mounts. 3 straight chrome floor tom legs that are NOT original Gretsch. Wrap is tight and in good condition. Batter side bearing edge are nice and look untouched. Reso side bearing edge has a section that has some chatter on it (See pic 11). Chrome has less than expected wear. 14″x 20″ Bass Drum. Traditional Gretsch lugs, Gretsch round badge, spurs are not original to kit, Gretsch wood bass drum hoops with half of the original matching inlay on reso side (no inlay on batter side). The finish is in good shape. The bass drum was originally drilled for a double tom mount, however original Gretsch mount had been replaced with a Ludwig. There are two small extra holes in the top of the bass drum one close to the mount, the other farther to the right (See picture). The Ludwig plate needs 3 carriage bolts which are easily found at hardware store. Bearing edges are original and untouched with no issues. Chrome has expected wear. Savoie Glow Drums – RCI White Acrylic Shells. 5 x 14 snare. There is a lot to learn about this drum set. The first thing that you need to know is that this is not a gimmick “glow” kit. This is a very serious, high-end, incredible sounding drum kit. This drum kit starts with RCI White Acrylic Shells. RCI simply makes the best sounding acrylic shells. The acrylic and acrylic welding technique matters a lot. RCI uses American made Cell Cast Acrylic for their shells. They have developed an acrylic welding technique that is Patent Pending. This part of the equation is incredibly important. Acrylic is available as Cell Cast, Extruded or Injection molded. This is as different to the sound as maple, birch and poplar. The technique in building the shells is as important as the technique is with wood. Acrylic can get a bad rap as a drum material due to lesser quality shells. Acrylic is getting more popular lately, so several drum companies are importing injection molded (seamless) shells. Their tone and tuneability is limited. They have a reputation of sounding “boingy” sound. RCI Cell Cast Acrylic shells are 1/4 thick and have a warm tone with lots of depth. They can be tuned low, high or anywhere in between. They react very well to different heads. They are an exceptionally versatile shell. Acrylic became very popular in the 70’s and the Ludwig Vistalite drums sound amazing. They reason they went out of favor is because Acrylic became too expensive. My point is this. They are very expensive shells! I used High Density RGB LED Lighting which offers better color options than standard LED Lights. The shells glow with vivid color that even my high Definition camera can not capture. The settings are controlled by a remote control or you can hook up the system to an existing band’s light system. The lighting system is very versatile with several options for solid colors, fades and flashes. You can control the brightness for the lighting as well as the speed of the fades and flashes. You can pause the fades to capture the exact color you want. I often connected the drums to my bands LED light controller (DMX Controller) so the drums changed along with the band lights. The drums look amazing on stage! The connections are fast and easy. It only takes a few minutes to connect all the drums at a show. The black vinyl racing stripes are no adhesive vinyl. They were attached to the acrylic with a mist of water. They will not come off on their own; however, they would be very easy to remove with a hair dryer if desired. I chose Yamaha hardware for several reasons. These quick release lugs make it incredibly quick and easy to change heads. You simply lossen the tension rods and the lugs come of the shell without needing to completely remove the tension rods. The lugs are black, which looks perfect with this drum kit. Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System – YESS. The secret of our YESS system is twofold: First, it provides minimum contact of hardware with shell; second, it connects that hardware at the nodal point of the drum – the point at which it will not interfere with shell vibration. Nylon bushings on rod clamps afford maximum stability. The YESS system permits toms to be placed close together, and does not interfere with quick head changes. Ball Mount & Clamp. A tribute to Yamaha design technology, our original ball mount and clamp has gone through very few modifications over the years. A large, ultra-hard resin ball sits in an attractive chromed housing, held in place with a titanium ergonomic wing bolt. It is the ultimate drummer-friendly mount, offering non-slip positioning virtually anywhere the drummer can imagine. Additionally, it permits tuning of the bottom head by simply rotating the drum.
