This item is an Absolute Mint, never played Gretsch USA Broadkaster 8 x 12 rack tom in the striking Caribbean Blue Gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. I custom ordered this drum in July 2025 from the Gretsch factory in Ridgeland SC through Soundpure when they were a Gretsch Drum Dealer. I thought about adding it to my 4-piece Broadkaster set but decided that I would stay with the original 4 piece configuration. It comes with two factory installed internal mufflers and a Permatone coated batter head and Permatone clear resonant head. The thin, three-ply shell produced that original “Great Gretsch Sound”. Drum Center of Portsmouth was influential in the prototyping of the latest iteration of the Gretsch Broadkaster when we visited the folks at Gretsch and discussed the relaunch of this classic line! These new Broadkaster shells are made with a North American maple/poplar/maple formula. Each 6.7mm shell includes an interior-ply scarf joint that adds structural integrity to the thin, musical shells. Like all USA-made Gretsch drums, shell interiors are finished with classic Gretsch Silver Sealer. The bearing edges are an exclusive reverse roundover, which allows greater surface contact with the drumhead. Toms are outfitted with Gretsch’s “302” 3.0mm, double flanged steel hoops. We are in Downtown Mesa, AZ. These are beautiful drums that begin with beautiful sought after shells! The Maple with the re-enforcement rings and the power depths make this an awesome set for any situation. The lacquer finish brings out the wood’s grain patterns and the hardware is well designed. This set comes with the matching snare drum and a double tom stand. There is a bass drum tom mount however the actual double tom post is M. As is the thumb screw. Set comes with a PDP double tom stand. The 10 tom will come with a tom clamp that you can mount to a cymbal stand. One of the three floor tom leg brackets thumb screws is not stock. There was ONE cut out in the bass drum re-ring. For some unknown reason! ? We had a local drum builder create a patch, please see last photo. Does not affect sound or structural integrity of the shell. The repair was to replace wood that was removed to accommodate a trigger.. For some dumb reason.
