This enhanced Dyna-Sonic style snare was owned and played by Roger Liston, acclaimed co-author of The Funky Primer and the man who taught Charles Dowd the art of Funk. This specific drum has served Roger well for more than 5 years, and it’s a reluctant sale as he is finally hanging up his sticks after 60+ years of playing. Key Features & Specifications. Design: A unique, custom-built, extended dynamic range Dyna-Sonic Style Snare drum. Shell: Custom, thick, heavy steel shell (7″ x 14″). Weight: Substantial total weight of 21 lbs (compared to a typical 7 lbs), contributing to its unique sound profile. Hardware: Features top-of-the-line components. Genuine Ayotte throw-off, lugs, and mounts. Rogers Dyna-Sonic snare gate tray. Heads: Fitted with Evans 360 heads. A Note from Roger Liston. If you want a drum that can play soft, and then VERY loud, without choking, check out this Enhanced Dyna-Sonic style drum, I have loved. The thicker steel shell transmits a lot more of the sound energy to the bottom head and out of the drum. The shell was machined from 1 thick seamless pipe. The shell is shaped similar to Keplinger shells but with no welded seams.
