Check out the 12 clear super-size pictures to help describe this nice drum! This kit has two virgin 22 bass drums, nice! Beautiful original light blue pearl finish with very minimal fade. I detailed and cleaned everything so you won’t have too. It came out great! Clearly in collector grade condition with gleaming chrome plating. 12″ and 13″ upper toms sit atop the heavy duty Slingerland stand with the double set-o-matic tom holder. All 4 rims on the upper toms are chrome over brass! 16″ floor tom, and as mentioned the two 22″ bass drums. All 3 toms have their internal mufflers. One bass drum has a Slingerland hoop mounted L-arm cymbal holder with tilter top. All 3 ply mahogany/poplar/maple shells with maple reinforcing rings. Beautiful clear maple insides, factory un-touched (no extra holes). Here are the serial numbers. Close serial numbers for sure! All black/brass oval Niles, ILL badges. All badges are super clean. 8 of the 10 heads are original. All 3 toms have their original bottom heads, and both bass drums have their original front heads with the nice Slingerland logo’s. One bass drum batter head is the original Slingerland sound king. The first picture shows the 12″ and 16″ Slingerland heads off to the side as they were to beat to use. I put some lightly used Remo Weather King Pin Stripe heads on the batter side of the 3 toms. One bass drum has a Remo Weather King Power Stroke 3 bass head on it. Note: one of the bass drum hoops was missing in action. Luckily the original T’s and Claws were in a bag. I bought another wood hoop and then bought Precision Drum Co’s inlay strip and put that on. Their sky blue pearl was the closest match, but of course it’s not exact. I put that on the batter side of the bass drum. From the front view it’s the right bass drum. Excellent original factory smooth bearing edges, heads rotate easily and drums tune up perfectly. Even with the used heads. If needed I have more pictures, just ask. Beautiful 1969 Slingerland 14N Duet model double bass drum set in all original green glass glitter (not rewrapped)! All drums have black/brass Niles badges with close serial numbers dating to 1969 and 3-ply maple shells with chocolate milk interiors. The green sparkle is gorgeous with zero fade. The drums have no extra holes or modifications and sound as good as they look. They are in very good condition, but not 100% perfect. There are a few minor scratches and blemishes, as they are almost 50 years old, but nothing major. I will go over each drum in detail below. Bass drum #1: 14×20, black/brass Niles badge serial #242420. The left-side bass drum is virgin. No holes except for spurs. Great color, no fade, a few minor scratches and some checking in places. One hoop is slightly different and might be a Ludwig. Only noticeable up close. It does have the correct inlay though. The spur mounts were stripped out and were repaired with helicoils. Non-factory wing screws are installed (see photo). 3-ply maple shell with “chocolate mik” interior. There is a section of the inside ply that is split (very common on Slingerlands from this era). It has not moved or changed in the 12 years I’ve owned the set. Has no effect on the sound or has any indication of causing an issue. I just wish to point it out. Comes with a new Powerstroke 3 head on the batter, and a generic smooth white head on the front with felt strip and reproduction correct-era Slingerland logo decal. The broken original is available free if you wish. Bass drum #2: 14×20, black/brass Niles badge serial #242411. The right-side bass drum has a factory cymbal mount. This drum is the nicer of the two. Both hoops are correct with factory inlays. The spur mounts work great and have the correct wing screws in place. 3-ply maple shell with “chocolate milk” interior. Inside is very nice. Comes with an almost new Powerstroke 3 head on the batter, and a generic smooth white head on the front with felt strip and reproduction correct-era Slingerland logo decal. Tom #1: 8×12, black/brass Niles badge serial #226630. Aluminum Swivomatic tom mount. Great color, no fade. Some minor scratches and blemishes. New coated Ambassador head on batter side. Used clear Diplomat head on bottom. Tom #2: 9×13, black/brass Niles badge serial #242482. One hoop has a small dent (see photo). One spot about 1 where paint is missing on top re-ring. Does not affect sound or structural integrity of drum. Almost new coated Ambassador head on batter side. Used coated Diplomat on bottom. Floor tom: 16×16, black/brass Niles badge serial #227141. Factory leg mounts work great with correct wing screws. Some checking in a few places. There is a small ding about 3/16 near the badge (see photo). Clean vintage Slingerland head on bottom.
