These iconic 8000 Yamahas are getting harder to find. Early 80s, birch, Philippine Mahogany. Includes authentic tom bass mount, no other hardware. Yamaha 9000, recording are the top of the line but next were the 8000s….. I have brothe and definitely the power 8000s are right up there with a lower warm sound because of the Mahogany. The entire set is in exceptional condition with very minimal wear. These drums are simply among the best Yamaha has ever made….. Often referred to as Yamahas golden period of drums. The shells are a mix of birch and mahogany manufactured in Japan. Here we have a true icon of a drum kit. This is a Yamaha Power Tour Custom (also known as the 8000 series) The Power Tour is little brother to the Recording Custom. The sound of the 8000 is very similar to the 9000 but with more low end if you can believe it! These drums are incredibly toneful and the bass drum probably has the edge on the 9000 series which many users have found lacks slight bottom end. Many fellow drummers over the years have commented about their preference of the 8000 series sound over the 9000. Includes all stands and hardware seen in pictures.
