This is a cost-no-object Gretsch USA Custom kit that was specially built for Brad Paisley’s drummer, Ben Sesar. This kit has the famous “Great Gretsch Sound” Jasper shells with grey interior paint. The shells have been wrapped in gloriously bright Gold Sparkle with double thick Full Dress design diamonds in the manner of drums of the early drum heroes of the’20’s and the’30’s – these diamonds are Red Sparkle sitting atop a Black Nitron diamond, attached securely to the Gold Sparkle wrapped shells. The drum shells are classic sizes 14×24, 8×12, 10×14, 16×16. Each shell has a real vintage Gretsch round badge, and have been mounted. The sound holes with small, vintage-appearing grommets – not large, modern-looking grommets. The Full-Dress diamonds and the vintage round badges are great vintage details!! And, of course, the 12/14/16 toms all have USA Custom cast hoops, a key aspect of the “Great Gretsch Sound”. These drums are wonderful to record with! … And, they look absolutely killer on stage and in videos. I used the kit in many live situations, several videos and recording sessions. The kit looks and sounds amazing, and it is in excellent+ condition – always having been treated with respect and great care. The kit was always used by me in its 24/14/16 configuration. However, the kit is also shown in the photos in its full 24/12/14/16 configuration – the kit could also be used as a 24/12/16 and 14 tom could easily be modded to be used as a snare drum. The set is shown in two photos as this possible option, too.
