Mapex Orion 13″ Tom Birds Eye Hand Selected Maple Drum This is for a top of the line Mapex Orion Series 13 x 11″ tom in Birds Eye maple. The badges say Hand Select Maple. This is Mapex’s flagship line. Hardware and the shell are clean. Has Mapex 2.3mm PowerHoop on top and bottom. Evans EC2 coated head on top, Mapex Remo Diplomat clear on bottom. I would consider this tom to be mint condition. The only blemish that I can find is a tiny black dot on the shell shown in the last picture.

This is a very special Bird’s Eye Maple kit. 16″ x 22″ Bass Drum. 16″ x 16″ Floor Tom. 10″ x 12″ Mounted Tom. It is in excellent condition. The finish has been refreshed, but it is the same highly figured Birdseye Maple as it was originally. The veneer has NOT been replaced. The only difference is that it is now a satin finish instead of the standard gloss that came on all of these fabulous Gretsch kits in the 1980s. I personally believe that the 1980s through 1990s Gretsch kits were the best they ever made. That original glossy finish had seen better days, so I had it very lightly sanded and redone as a satin finish by a well known drum builder here in Southern California. The result is the beautiful, unique kit you see above. These whole Gretsch Maple Birdseye kits are super rare. This is the only entire Birdseye Gretsch kit I have ever seen….. And I’ve seen A LOT of Gretsch kits! The spurs, tom legs, and tom mount are included. If you are interested, I have a couple of glossy finish Gretsch Birdseye Maple snare drums for sale that are a nice match for this kit. More pics are available upon request. For sale: Pearl Custom Z / CZX Birds Eye Maple Double bass drum set kit!! Square sizes with large kicks!! Very hard to to find. Sizes: 24×18 (x2) 10×10 12×12 13×13 18×18. The drums are in decent shape but do have some normal wear / age. They do have some some marks / normal scratches here and there on each drum and the chrome does have pitting/oxidation on each drum. SUPER RARE Tama Artstar 1 Birds Eye Maple Tom Drum Set!!! 8,10,12,13,16! 16 inch floor tom (no legs). As you may have seen these drums are almost impossible to find because they only offered artstar 1 drum kits in cordia in the North American Market. The birds eye maple Artstar 1’s kits were offered for sale only in japan other than the BEM snares which they did have in NA. I got this set from japan. Unfortunatly when i got the set the bass has rash and a cracked hoop in it so it was restored in candy apple red and thats why these toms are for sale. Very high end drums. They did have yamaha mounts on some and scratches and age but i restored them back with original tama mounts and plugged a couple holes. Also I would be willing to sell without the 8 for a few hundred less if interested. I do have spare sets artstar long lugs from artstar 1 from bass if you wanted to make a bass to match this tom set so not all hope is lost!! Or mix with a superstar maple kick! This is a very unique set of Natural Maple Bird’s Eye Gretsch Drums. I have honestly never seen another one like it. The sizes are: 22″ x 16″ bass drum, 16″ x 16″ floor tom, 12″ x 10″ rack tom , and a 14″ x 7″ snare drum. I believe this kit was built by Gretsch in the 80s, and it was originally a natural maple GLOSS finish, but the finish was starting to look a little worn. So I had it refinished by Paul Bleifus, who was a drum builder/refinisher here in San Diego, and who specialized in Gretsch Drums and beautiful SATIN finishes. You can see the results of his incredible craftsmanship in the pictures. Look at the highly figured birdseye markings of the wood, and how his SATIN finish brings them out! One of the most important things to know about this kit is that it is made with Jasper shells , which are generally accepted as the best ever made. The wood has had about 30 years to mellow at this point, and these drums sound great! The 14″ x 7″ Gretsch Maple Natural Bird’s Eye finish snare drum, is still in the factory original GLOSS finish , but shares the same beautiful and rare “bird’s eye”. I have been a Gretsch drum fan and collector for decades, and I have never seen anything like this kit anywhere else. This is your chance to own something beautiful and truly unique!
