Ayotte Professional Maple DS Drum Set, 4 Piece, 22, 10,12,16, dark Blue natural Stain. I’m an Ayotte fan and have owned and recorded with this kit for over twenty years. And like any exceptional instrument, I believe they should be played vs stored. I have barely played them for the last decade as I’ve been playing other sets. Time for someone else to enhance app to this beautiful sounding drum set! A brief description is below. This Ayotte 4 Piece Maple Drum Shell Pack creates a warm sound that only this Canadian sugar maple can produce. There’s a reason Ray Ayotte chose this particular wood to work with. The tuning system is one of the best for fine tuning. The drum spurs are iconic! The natural maple hoops on the bass drum really stand out against that dark blue stain. The grain of the maple is visible through the stain as well. The kit has signs of play and scuffs and scratches as one would expect. Some surface wear on a bit of the rims. The drums have been stored in a dry, smoke free home. The pack includes a 22″ kick drum, 10″ rack tom, 12″ rack tom, a 16″ floor tom (suspended). Note that the 10 Tom is a drum smith model in the same finish, only difference is the rack mount has a black bracket instead of chrome. Per the pictures, it comes with 3 of the original Ayotte tom hardware mounts. Note that all 3 toms are suspended which allows the Tom tones to really sing. Ayotte Custom 8 pc. Wood Hoop Drum Kit was Crafted in Canada in 1998/1999. Kit was 8, 10, 12 rack toms…. 14,16 floor toms with legs , and 22Bass drum. A year or so later the 14 rack tom , and Ten-o-six 6.5′ snare were added. I sent one of the rack toms to Ayotte in Canada to have the color matched. They did a Great Job. So now the kit configuration is: 8,10,12,14 rack toms,,,14,16 floor toms with legs, 6.5 Ten-o-Six snare drum , and 22 Bass drum. This Kit also has custom full face matching wood hoops. You very rarely find that on Ayotte kits (they are mostly a contrasting natural maple wood hoop with an inlay stripe of the kit color). So the kit is African Walnut Gloss , and so are the wood hoops to match. The kit is in very good condition it does have a some small nics and scratches which are not very noticeable. Some of the chrome may have some pitting. The kit is 20 years old and is not perfect. Hardware that comes with the kit is….. Bass drum mounted double turret tom mount, A double tom mount and stand for 2 rack toms, 6 floor tom legs (3 for each floor tom). And Suspension mounts for all 4 rack toms. If you have ever had the pleasure of playing an Ayotte Custom kit then you know what a wonderful tonal quality they have especially with the wood hoops. Ayotte Professional Maple DS 4 piece drum set. Original perfect maple wood hoops on all the drums. Re-rings around bearing edges. Beautiful blue lacquer finish. These shells are the exact same as the Maple Custom line, check out their website. The bass drum has some scratches and checking of the lacquer on top from its age, but doesn’t affect the sound what so ever. All other toms are perfect not a scratch! The ride tom appears to have a little more green in the lacquer then the rest of the drums see pic, but it’s gorgeous.
