Vintage Slingerland Drum Set. 1950’s-1960’s Era. Bass Drum: 12 X 22. (Aquarian head is NOT included, a Remo WeatherKing Pinstripe, good condition will be included). Small Tom: 8 X 12. Floor Tom: 14 X 14. Snare is NOT Included, I refinished that Tangerine Sparkle, but is available and have some other colors I refinished. The bass drum badge has no serial number, as doesn’t the florr tom. The Small tom serial number Is: 189437. The photos of the Kit were taken outside and look very bright, but The 4th. Photo (bass drum looking down) and the 10th. Photo (side of small tom) were taken inside so wrap color may looks different. The Top heads haven’t been played much. They are all Remo Emperor Colortone in smoked Grey. The bottom heads on toms were just put on new, all new, they are Evans G1. The Tom Mount and Arm are a Steve Maxwell reproduction. Bass drum was a virgin drum and had to be drilled for mount. Lugs for Bass Drum are Single Tension, meaning the lugs do not have springs in them, and the tension Rods run Through. The lugs, and only the side with The T’s can be tightened. Also, the legs are Slingerland but were drilled for them as they had clamp on legs. No other holes were drilled from what I can tell, except what looks like 3 in bottom bass drum shell that were filled in. Floor tom has internal muffler, 12 tom does not, but has holes, covered by wrap. The 12 Tom was a clamp on and was drill for Tom Arm. The original finish was Blue. Silver Duco and the previous owner had. Painted over the original and it looked pretty good but I wanted to redo it. The wrap I used was from precision drum company, Black Onyx. The wrap job is pretty good, tight, but somebody shaved some of the wrap edges around. The 12 and floor tom to accomodate newer heads. Can’t be seen with heads on. The bass drum shell wasn’t shaved at all. The bearing edges look good, and drums seem in round. No cracks or damage to shells that I could tell. The insides all have the Mahogany wood, I applied some polyeuarathane to protect it, they have Maple reinforcing rings on every drum. The lugs all look good. The hoops look to be original Slingerland, in very good condition. A magnet will NOT stick to them, so they probably Chrome over Brass. Adding all the parts, wrap, etc. A very Nice set. This is a VINTAGE Slingerland 4 piece drum set. The color wrap is Gray Agate pearl which is a very rare color.. Its in MINT CONDITION and the year is 1967.. Although they are used.. I honestly don’t think they’ve ever been played.. When i wiped them down i didnt see any saw dust or stick chips in between the rim and the heads.. Which tells me they were barely ever played.. They’ve been kept in a dry place.. They’re no scratches or obvious blemishes.. The original hardware has minimal rust pitting from sitting but very little to none on the lug casings. I have played for 45 years and I’ve never seen a kit this old in this condition.. I know what I have so don’t low ball me. 14 chrome over Nickle snare. Vintage 1960’s Slingerland. 4 piece drum set in excellent used condition. All wrap has been cleaned and polished, all chrome has been. Cleaned and treated with anti-corrosive. Tension rods (threads wire brushed), lugs, rims, legs, tom mount. Heads have been cleaned, ride tom bottom head has faded marker. Heads have indentions, fade and excessive wear. Floor tom bottom head has a 2 cut, bottom snare head has 3 punctures, all have been sealed with clear packing tape and are usable as bottom heads. The entire set appears to be original right down to the tension rod washers. Drum sizes and badge numbers: Bass 20 x 14, #152029, Floor Tom 16 x 16, #182588, Ride Tom 12 x 8, #198494, Snare 14 x 5, #153333. Most of the Blue Agate trim is missing from one of the kick hoops, s. Cuffs on both kick hoops. Minor wear on wrap and chrome, gloss is very shiny and well preserved with few imperfections. Consignment Vintage Slingerland Set, Early 60s, 12,14,20, Blue Agate, chrome over brass 5X14 snare with some hardware, original, rare, clean. This early 1960s Slingerland Set is in really good shape. The sizes are 14×20 bass drum, 8×12 mouthed tom, 14×14 floor tom and a 5×14 8-lug chrome over brass snare drum. All of the drums have chrome over brass hoops. The shells are 3 ply maple with reinforcement hoops. Judging by the straight legs on the floor tom, the T-Handles on the bass drum and the Niles, Illinois badge, we are fairly confident this kit is from the early 1960s. The Blue Agate finish is in great shape for its age. The inlay on the bass drum hoops is coming up a little bit, but it will be repaired by our technician. The only non-original part on the kit is the knob on the snare drum throw-off. The resonant heads on the mounted tom, floor tom and bass drum are all the original Slingerland heads.
