This used C&C Drums 4-pc all-maple drumset finished in a rare Italian acetate Oyster Cream Pearl wrap (this is the one and only C&C drumset with this finish). The 10″ was finished with wrap that was leftover from the other three drums, so it’s a bit of a “patchwork quilt with lots of odd seems.

RARE VINTAGE 1980’S. If your looking at these, you probably already know more about them than I do. The little info I found about Page Drums is that they were made by David Page who owned a shop in San Diego, CA back in the late 1980’s through the 1990’s. Page was known as a drum builder, designer, inventor and extraordinaire. Each drum was hand crafted to your own specifications. He used a rope tension style tuning system, basically like an old Civil War rope style marching drum. Apparently he made a great set of drums as “They were introduced at the 1992 NAMM show and twice nominated for Best Acoustic Drum”. They still have the original Page Drum heads on the bass and I think all the heads are originals. Down at the bottom of the bass head it reads: Professional Drum Shop Hollywood, Calif which this company has a lot of history dating back to the 50’s. I haven’t done anything to them, there just as I found them, dusty and need cleaning. I did notice a few areas, mostly on the bass, where the plaid vinyl wrap is lifting in areas. The Mount-All bracket is made by LP and I don’t see any ID on the double tom mount or snare stand. Snare has a Peace head on top and Evans “One Side 3 Way Hazy” on the bottom. Toms have a Peace head on top with Remo Weatherking Ambassadors on bottom. Bass has customized Page heads on front and back. Bass: 16″W x 15.5″D. Snare: 3″W x 14″D. Tom: 9.5″W x 10″D. Drumset, 1970s, Polychromatic Red. This is a used Premier 4-piece drumset that recently came into our shop on trade. Fully functional and ready to roll right out of the box, this “players” condition kit has us a bit stumped! Per Premier’s catalog listings from the 1970s, it looks a lot like a “Gig Maker” setup (minus the snare drum and hardware), but the bass drum interior is Resonator series, the 13″ tom looks like Elite series, and the 14″ and 16″ toms look like they MIGHT have been Resonator series with the inner 3-ply shell removed and then the interiors refinished (note the small block of wood on the interiors of the 14″ and 16, which was possibly where the inner 3-ply Resonator shell would have been attached). If they are indeed a combination of Resonator and Elite, the shells should be birch with beech re-rings, but not being privy to these drums’ entire history, it could also just be a mix-and-match set of similar-era Premiers with matching Red Polychromatic wrapped finish. We’re not entirely sure. In any case, we’ll try to provide the best description possible. This drumset includes 9×13″ and 10×14″ mounted toms, a 16×16″ floor tom (that’s actually closer to 15″ deep), and a 14×22 bass drum. It appears as though the bass drum is from Premier’s Resonator Series, and the three toms are Elite Series, all most likely from the 1970s. Wraps and hoop inlays are tight, shells are in-round, and bearing edges and reinforcement rings are in good shape. Expect to find typical signs of age-appropriate wear and tear like small scuffs and scratches, fingerprints, dust, and some pitting and corrosion on the chrome (especially the double tom mount), but overall these drums look great and sound fantastic! All badges have 4-digit serial numbers, and even though they are extremely difficult to read, they appear to be: 2539 on the 9×13″, 4391 on the 10×14″, 1871 on the 16×16, and 1824 on the 14×22. Hoops, lugs, claws, mounts, and spurs appear to be original, but not all of the hardware on these drums is original. The Premier slotted tension rods on the toms and handle-style rods on the bass drum have been replaced with standard keyed tension rods on all drums. The leg bracket thumb screws on the floor tom may have also been replaced. Internal muffler on the 12 tom functions but is missing its felt pad. Internal muffler on the 13 tom has been removed and is no longer available. Internal muffler on the 16 tom is in good shape and functions as designed. The bass drum was manufactured without an internal muffler. 16×16 Floor Tom with Legs. 14×22 Bass Drum with Double Tom Mount. This item is used. Used means we acquired the item after it had been previously owned and used for some length of time. The condition of used items varies greatly. Vintage 1960s Sonor Teardrop 4-Pc. Check out this fantastic 4-piece set of vintage 1960s Sonor Teardrops! Featuring beech construction, original nameplates, super-cool Kristal wrapped finish, and no signs of extra drilled holes or exposure to moisture, these drums are fully functional and ready to play right out of the box! That said, expect to find typical age-appropriate wear on all drums, including light surface scuffs and scratches, a bit of dust here and there, and a few fingerprints. Included are a 4.5×14″ snare drum, 8×13″ mounted tom with tom arm, 16×16″ floor tom with legs, and a rare 14×22″ bass drum. Additionally, we’re throwing in a period-correct Sonor snare stand, bass drum pedal, and partial hi-hat stand. Details about each individual item are as follows. 4.5×14 Snare Drum – Interior and bearing edges are very clean. Original hoops, lugs, tension rods, internal muffler, strainer, butt, and wires. Snare cord and heads are not original and have been replaced over the years. Note that the strainer cap is missing. 8×13 Mounted Tom – Interior and bearing edges are very clean. Original hoops, lugs, tension rods, internal muffler, mounting bracket (thumb screw has been replaced with a standard tension rod), and Sonor tom arm (looks like the angle-adjusting bolt on the tom arm may have been replaced). Heads are not original and have been replaced over the years. 16×16 Floor Tom – Interior and bearing edges are very clean. Original hoops, lugs, tension rods, internal muffler, legs with rubber feet, and leg mounting brackets (two of the thumb screws on the brackets have been replaced with standard wing nuts). 14×22 Bass Drum – Interior and bearing edges are very clean. Re-rings are present on bass drum. Wrap is mostly secure, but there are a couple loose/warped areas at the seams, as well as a small crack at one of the seams (see pics). Note the two darker, discolored areas on the wrap (see pics). These areas are not sticky, scratched, etc. And we’re not sure what might have caused them to appear. Original hoops with inlays, lugs, claws, T-rods, internal muffler, and spurs. Cymbal arm bracket is also original, but its thumb screw has been replaced by a standard tension rod. Includes period-correct Sonor logo head (we’re not sure if it’s original) and a replaced batter head. Note that the hoop inlays are a bit loose and separating in a couple of places (see pics). Snare Stand – Sonor Teardrop era stand in functioning condition. Appears to be missing a set screw near the base of the basket, and possibly another at the base of the tripod. Bass Drum Pedal – Sonor period-correct bass drum pedal in good, functioning condition. Partial Hi-Hat Stand – Tripod base and pedal only. Upper tube, seat, and clutch are not included. This hi-hat stand shows more wear and corrosion than any of the other pieces and is not functional as-is. It will take a bit of work and some replacement parts to get it up-and-running.
