Vintage Slingerland Radio King bass drum (24×14), rack tom (9×13), and floor tom (16×16) up for sale. Original hardware (minus one modern tension rod) & (one bass claw/t-rod with half tine/T — bottom left on the bass batter side). Original calf skin reso heads (some glue residue on the bass drum reso skin). Extra holes in shells are plugged. Tom shell over-lap section leveled. Thin goat skin batter heads on the toms, and thin furred goat skin on the bass drum batter. Drums fit modern heads snuggly. Slingerland external bass drum muffle included. Aluminum cloud badge on bass drum included — but it is uninstalled in case of future re-wrap. This is such great kit, and it wears all of its scars proudly! When I rescued this set the White Marine Pearl wrap was covered in paint (layers of orange & brown), and the hardware was painted black. Unfortunately, the wrap was unrecoverable, but instead of a full rewrap I opted to use a single coat of tung oil on the natural mahogany. Local Pick-up is preferred. I can accommodate a physically distanced pick-up. I’m happy to answer any questions. Some rust damage is visible, some paint and wrap remnants remain. Snare drum stand is not included in this sale. Vintage 1974 Slingerland Black 5pc Shell Kit Niles Ill. 24″x14″, 18″x16″, 14″x10″. 13″x9″, 5″x14″. Player grade black & chrome vintage drums circa 1974-ish. Snare is later, late 70’s early-80’s maybe. Tom tom & bass shells excellent. Wraps are very good. Maybe some small wavy areas here & there. Lugs do have some very light pitting. Drums could use a cleaning but still look good. No big dings or damage, some rubs though. Snare has pitting, scratches & crack repair inside. New head sounds good. All matching with black & silver badges with “Niles, Ill” on them as well as the serial numbers dating them around 1974. The set has the single hoop concert tom tom configuration with a 24″x14″ bass drum, 14″x10″ tom, 13″x9″ tom and a mighty 18″x16″ floor tom. Snare is 5″x14″ steel/chrome wrap over maple shell. Tom Tom heads may be negligible. The two top concert toms have been factory sprayed inside. Has the Set-O-Matic tom holder. One replaced tension rod on kick drum. Supposed to have 4 spurs for kick but I only have two. Bass drum missing one leg mount, see pic. Non-original floor tom legs and lock keys. Original Slingerland Black label snare stand & kick pedal.
