Early solid-brass hourglass on all drums except for the snare that has special tube-through lugs, solid-brass throw off, triple-flanged hoops, double-45 bearing edges. Every shell signed & dated by the builder. Black satin (woodgrain visible in the right light) has aged beautifully as well as beautiful and natural patina on snare lugs; edges true; hardware functions smoothly. I got this kit when I graduated high school in 2012. Part of it was already a made and then I got the extra kick and 8 inch Tom custom ordered. Tom mounting hardware included. I put some DW sliding Tom mounts on each kick for the toms to be mounted on the bass drums without any extra hardware or stands. These are amazing sounding drums, especially for acrylic drums. These babies have really good warmth and attack. Finish is in great shape. Some minor wear and tear, but for the most part everything has been kept in near perfect condition. Up for sale is an incredibly rare drum set made in the USA by Bill Detamore in his custom shop at Pork Pie Percussion. 3-ply maple/poplar/maple shells w/ maple reinforcement rings. Same shell configuration as the 60’s and early 70’s Ludwigs a la Ringo, Bonham, et al. Vintage tone, warmth, feel, and vibe for days. I’ve owned a vintage Rogers and a modern Gretsch Broadkaster in these sizes as well. Those kits were great. But this one is simply, to my ears, a cut above in terms of tone/sound/feel. And as a huge Rogers and Gretsch fan, I never would have believed that I would say that until I actually played this kit. 14×24 bass drum (virgin). Pedal rash on batter hoop. 9×13 rack tom (virgin) 16×16 floor tom 16×18 floor tom Coated Ambassadors on bottom of all 3 toms. Coated Vintage Ambassadors on top of all 3 toms. Coated Powerstoke 3 on bass batter. Fiberskyn Powerstoke 3 on bass reso (w/ a port hole – see 10th pic) All heads have VERY LITTLE wear/use… I spoke with Bill Detamore about this kit and he says the wrap and shells are a custom order/one-off… Nothing he has built before or since. This a custom kit from Bill Detamore built in 2015. Shells are African Mahogany with Maple rerings. They feature a High gloss lacquer finish with matching bass drum hoops. The drums are in mint condition. Tom mount is included as well the Pork Pie logo bass drum head(not pictured). I opted for the smaller badges and bass drum mount was installed by Bill at the Pork Pie Shop. These drums have a pretty wide tuning range with a nice vintage warm tone.
