Up for sale in the drum hub store is a vintage 1965 Ludwig 3 piece Down Beat kit. Wrapped in sparkle pink champagne. Shells are all 3 ply with re-rings and white. Drum sizes are 8 x 12 , 14 x 14 and 14 x 20. This is could be considered a. Factory matched set as the badge numbers are very close in sequence. Keystone badge #189657; the 14 is Keystone badge #189676 and the 20 is Keystone. The 14 has a date stamp that reads SEPT 27 196? . All drums are in very. The chrome hardware is bright and shinny with some minor. Pitting on the lugs and some minor rust spots on the claws. The bass drum has the older. Style clock-face dial with script Ludwig logo and Ringo type fold-down spurs. On the hoops is not all original but the black paint looks original. Wrap on all three. Drums is tight with some uniform fade throughout (see photo)but the color is uniform. There are a few minor blemishes on a back panel of the 12 (see photo). A white felt baseball bat muffler and the 14 has the correct e short 17 legs. Edges are fine and the heads spin freely. Not a museum piece but far from a players. Kit and is priced accordingly.
