This is a very special Bird’s Eye Maple kit. 16″ x 22″ Bass Drum. 16″ x 16″ Floor Tom. 10″ x 12″ Mounted Tom. It is in excellent condition. The finish has been refreshed, but it is the same highly figured Birdseye Maple as it was originally. The veneer has NOT been replaced. The only difference is that it is now a satin finish instead of the standard gloss that came on all of these fabulous Gretsch kits in the 1980s. I personally believe that the 1980s through 1990s Gretsch kits were the best they ever made. That original glossy finish had seen better days, so I had it very lightly sanded and redone as a satin finish by a well known drum builder here in Southern California. The result is the beautiful, unique kit you see above. These whole Gretsch Maple Birdseye kits are super rare. This is the only entire Birdseye Gretsch kit I have ever seen….. And I’ve seen A LOT of Gretsch kits! The spurs, tom legs, and tom mount are included. If you are interested, I have a couple of glossy finish Gretsch Birdseye Maple snare drums for sale that are a nice match for this kit. More pics are available upon request.
